Crazy Ryan

Ryan put these hair clips on his ears (ouch!!) and ran around with them laughing.  He thought they were so cool!  I couldn’t get him to be still enough to get a good pic of them.  Boys can be so weird! DSC_0039

Pampered Pooches

It is not just Apollo who thinks he is royalty. These are pics of my dogs from yesterday in various places lounging around. They are so spoiled!

The kids were dragging these 2 pillows around and when I came downstairs, Athena was spread out on them like a queen.DSC_0020

The dogs love sunlight. Here all five are basking in the sun. In the summer some of them even get dark suntans. DSC_0026

Are dogs love blankets. Here Pandora (aka sniper dog) is laying in one while I am changing the bed sheets.

Little Blue and Little Yellow

We did an activity yesterday using the book Little Blue and Little Yellow by Leo Lionni.  I froze 2 things of ice one with blue food coloring and one with yellow.  We read the book and then interested little blue and little yellow.  They played for a while then we re-read the book acting it out as we read.  We left the ice to finish melting to see what happens when the two blend together.  At bath time they still weren’t finished melting so they got to play with them in the bathtub.

Sensory Table Idea

I recently added Rice to our sensory table.  I bought some colanders, funnels, spoons and various containers from the dollar store.  The kids had a blast playing in the rice.  I also enjoy playing in the rice…it is very therapeutic.

Happy Birthday to all of our February Friends

February is a busy month for birthdays for us.  Many of Arianna’s friends have a birthday around her birthday since we met them when she was a baby.  It is amazing that they are all 5 now.  They are growing up wayyyy too fast!  Here are pics from Matthew’s Birthday Party.  Also kudos to all of you Mom’s who have worked so hard to get these newly turned 5 year olds to today!

Mucho Amor!

Ryan’s weird wardrobe

Ryan loves abnormal outfits.  He finds an outfit that he likes (usually it is something that he can’t wear out of the house).  So he changes into regular clothes right before we leave.  Then strips as soon as we walk through the door to put back on his outfit.  Some of his many outfits are:

18 month ski bib overalls, his soccer outfit (which is actually a basketball outfit), his tux vest and pants with the white shirt over the vest (looks like a Chip N Dale dancer), his “Papa” outfit which is when he wears no shirt

You never know what he is going to show up in when he goes up stairs to get dressed.

Soccer

One of Ari’s birthday presents from Nana and Dala was to be able to play soccer.  She is so excited about her new uniform.  She picked out pink shin guards, a pink ball and pink cleats.  When we picked up her team uniform, Ryan wanted so bad to have one too.  Ari shared her 2nd shirt with him with strict orders that he had to give it back.  We had to find Layla a “soccer” outfit too.  Ari’s first game is on Sunday.

My Baby is Five

My sweet baby girl turned 5 yesterday!  It so hard to believe that she is that old already!  She was very excited about her birthday and had literally been counting down the days for months.

She asked on the eve of her birthday could she wake up in the middle of the night and open her presents.  Needless to say that was the first thing on her agenda when she woke up.  DSC_0112

Since it was her birthday, she was able to choose what we did.  She wanted a McGriddle from McDonalds.  She wanted to go inside to eat and so we did. DSC_0117 She enjoyed playing on the indoor play structure.  We left McDonalds and went to Jumping Beans.  DSC_0123DSC_0139DSC_0144She had so much fun jumping and climbing.  We had cheese pizza for lunch at Jumping Beans.  DSC_0146Next she wanted to come home and help make her cake while the two younger ones napped.  While the cake was baking, we went outside to put together her new climbing wall.  DSC_0201DSC_0216

For dinner, she chose to go to Andy’s and then we came home and sung Happy Birthday and she blew out her candles which in her book signifies turning 5.  Before she blew out her candles, she was still 4.  DSC_0155DSC_0159DSC_0162DSC_0187After cake we played her new game Zingo.

I love my little (big) girl!  I am grateful to get to be her Mommy!

She is now counting down the days until her birthday party which is this upcoming Saturday.
