Something lost is exciting

Arianna lost her first tooth on Mother’s Day Night.  She looks so cute with the missing tooth!DSC_0163

Romantic Getaway

Chris and I had a great weekend this past weekend. My Mom kept our kids and we headed to Big Mill B&B for a weekend away. It was such a great place!!! We had a great time spending time with each other and enjoying the beautiful property! We also found all of the geocaches in Williamston, NC! One county down, 99 to go! If you like quiet and peaceful, then this is a great place to visit!

Arianna is just about Reading

It has been amazing to watch the gears fall into place for Arianna as she has been working on reading.  She has known her letters and all letter sounds for almost 2 years.  She has also been able to write all of the letters for a long time.  She has had troubled blending sounds together.  She would say hhhhh      aaaaaa        ttttttt.  She could hear the sounds if I sounded it out but couldn’t if she did.  One day a couple of weeks ago, it was so exciting when the gears clicked.  She was jumping up and down yelling I can read, I can read!  She has been zooming through her reading lessons ever since that day!  Sometimes she does 2-3 a day.  Her next reward is a scrapbooking trip with Mom (lesson 30).  She is on lesson 24.  I am so proud of my sweet girl!

Answered Prayers

My kids have been praying for months that my Daddy would walk by his birthday.  He had a stroke last September.   We celebrated his 51st birthday on April 19th.  Here are the photos…

Daddy reading the card from AriDSC_0005

Daddy walked with this one handed walker all the way across the porch.  He has made tremendous progress in the last 2 months.  Turns out he was misdiagnosed and he is now 100% cancer free and the abscess near his kidney is almost completely gone.  The old oncologist thought this was a cancer mass and told Daddy he only had a short term to live that there was nothing that could be done for the cancer!  When he went to a new hospital, he had to get a new oncologist which after many tests figured this out.  We about lost Daddy at the end of January due to the abscess.  Thank God for the new oncologist and his ordering the tests he did.  Once they begin treating the abscess (e-coli and staph infection), within 2-3 days, Daddy had made a miraculous turn around!

I am so proud of my Daddy for his determination and perseverance in the face of many hardships!

This was after he walked.  It took a lot of energy for him!  He wanted to walk back to the other end of the porch but we encouraged him to sit down and take a break!  You can see it in his eyes that it wore him out.  Our eyes always give us away!DSC_0013 DSC_0014 (2) DSC_0015 DSC_0017

Planting Apple Trees

We planted the apple trees that Nanny gave us.  We are so excited to see how they turn out.  She grafted 2 different types of apples on each tree so it should produce 2 different types of apples:)

Mountain Rapids

While we were on our way to Yaya's for Easter we stopped off to enjoy the rapids near Asheville. Nothing like taking 2 dare devils and a dog out on the rapids:) We had a great time!

Family Roots

I always try to make sure I get pictures with the Great Grandparents! We took these pictures when Nanny was getting 2 apple trees that she had grafted for the kids. The kids and Apollo had a blast in the apple orchard.

Easter Day

We spent Easter day with my Mom and family. We died eggs, had a fish fry and had an egg hunt.
